poke-balls

Poke-balls are mysterious objects in the pokemon world. Many people have wondered what happens to the pokemon when they are inside them. We know that they can hear what goes on in the outside world because trainers/coordinators, etc frequently call out attacks before removing the pokemon form the poke-ball. But what actually happens to the pokemon? Based on the episode in the first season "hypno's naptime" the pokemon becomes a miniature version of itself and is surrounded by blue. There are more accounts of this when people ask about Pikachu staying out of his poke-ball and Ash replies that Pikachu doesn't like to be contained. It seems really boring and I would imagine that the pokemon sleep for most of the time in there, the details are unknown except that the pokemon appears to float in the middle of the ball. We also know that poke-balls are controlled by electricity that is given to them based on transmission waves because in various movies/episode it is noted that they are cut off from the electricity system. Another mystery is that trainers seem to always know which poke-ball contains which pokemon, like they can tell them apart but in truth when mixed with a bunch of poke-balls they are unable to identify which poke-ball is which, as seen at the Indigo Plateau when Team Rocket steals all of the competing trainers' pokemon, however this rule is not set in stone as many other episodes where Team Rocket has stolen people's poke-balls they have managed to tell them apart. The question is how do trainers know which pokemon they are taking out? It is likely that trainers put their poke-balls in a specific order so that they can tell their poke-balls apart. A final question that I will tackle is how can some pokemon come out of their pokeballs of their own free will? This really is a mystery as the inside of a poke-ball, as shown in hypno's naptime shows that their are no seams on the inside of the poke-ball, and not only that but you need to enlarge the poke-ball using the electrical transmissions before taking out your pokemon.

Aveon

My next eeveelution, aveon. I did say fluffy wings and I tried it, but it didn't work out too well... I think I did okay on the shading this time, and the legs don't look too awkward. Over the period of march break I will not post any pictures or blog entries.

I know I said I wanted the eeveelutions to have their collars back, but I couldn't get it to work with this one, so here is my attempt fighting-type eeveelution, also known as pugneon, I know the shading is messed up... remember these are just what I think they should look like

here is my first attempt at drawing one of my eeveelutions, this one is the dragon eevee, but not drawn very well, at least you can understand my explanation better... My name for it is impereon.

eeveelutions

Okay so we don't know if there will be any more eeveelutions, they are losing ways to spread out the IVs already, leafeon and glaceon are examples of that. I think that if they did they would not make a normal-type eevee because that completely defeats the purpose of eevee, if you want a normal-type eevee then don't evolve eevee. The point of eevee is to adapt to it's surroundings. A fighting-type eevee would be difficult because all fighting types have stood on two legs, however it is possible to get an eevee that is a fighting-type and doesn't stand on two legs, you just need some creativity, it's ears could elongate and serve and "arms" sort of like buneary's dizzy punch, how it punches with it's ears, that would limit it to arm fighting-type moves, but that would make it similar to hitmonchan (hitmonlee and hitmontop being the other two evolved forms of tyrogue learn leg fighting-type moves). The question now is, why would it need to evolve into a fighting type? I don't know for sure but an idea would be for it to evolve so that it can become more powerful, a trait shared by ash's buizel and a couple of other pokemon, you could call it "happiness when in battle" or something, it would work because umbreon and espeon both evolve via happiness. A bug-type eeveelution would be interesting and maybe one of the few bug-types that misty is not afraid of (pineco and ledyba being examples) because eeveelutions are all really cute. What conditions would an eevee need to evolve into a bug-type? Well bug-types can all reproduce so if there was a decrease in the eevee population in a certain area, or if they were getting picked on by ground types, although that would defeat eevee's purpose, to evolve based on their surroundings. The most reasonable reason for an eevee to evolve into a bug-type would probably be an abundance of sap in the forest it is living in because to suit forest purposes it could easily evolve into a leafeon, or if it lived in the canopy of trees, instead of the ground (although how it would get there in the first place I do not know). Dragon-type eevee is also questioned because people don't see why a terrain would best suit a dragon-type. The only pure dragon-types so far live in completely different areas which makes you wonder why and eevee would need to evolve into one, which brings you again to the thought of other pokemon types in that area being "rough," however because of some dragon-type pokemon being able to fly without being a flying-type you could assume that the eeveelution would be in an area that has many cliffs. Finally the last questionable eeveelution, a steel-type. I think a steel-type would be very possible, like with my bug-type theory it could be in an area with no vegetation, as many steel-types, such as agron, live where there is iron or some other metal to eat.

Names:
People have come up with different names for the new eeveelutions, however most of them are obvious, and with the exception of leafeon the names of eeveelutions are pretty creative (especially umbreon and espeon, umbreon coming from the latin root umbra, meaning ghost or shadow, unsure of espeon etymology). Here are some of my ideas(although they might not be better than other peoples'):

Bug-type could be visceon, like viscous because of the sticky sap that bug-types like to eat and the sticky feet of bugs
dragon-type could be impereon(pronounced imp-eer-eon), the zodiac sign dragon's motto is "I reign," imp, being like imperial.
Steel-type could be aureon, coming from the latin word for gold aurum, many steel-types names' have a metal in them (steelix and bronzor for example) so The eeveelution should have a rare metal such as gold in the name.
ground-type could be called sculpteon because diglett has the verb "dig" in its name, digging being a verb that tends to have something to do with earth/the ground, so why not have an eeveelution with the verb "sculp" in it, it would probably be a very artistic pokemon, like smeargle.
A fighting-type eeveelution could be called pugneon, derived from the latin root pugnat, the verb "to fight." I don't think it sounds that weird.
A flying-type eevee could easily be called aveon(pronounced eh-veon), like for birds aves, or aviary.
A ghost-type eevee should be called umbreon because umbra means ghost, however it also means shadow, so umbreon works well for the dark type because shadows are dark, but because umbra is taken it could be called something like spectreon, like spectral or spectre, words commonly associated with ghosts.
For a poison-type people have suggested toxineon, while not spectacularily creative it has a certain ring to it and I will not influence counteracting it.
For a rock-type I was thinking of something such as igneon, from igneous rocks, metamorphic and sedementary would sound weird if you put them in an eeveelution name(meteon, sedeon, bleh*no offense to people who like those names*) you could try to get lapis or something else in there but I still think that it would sound weird.

What would they look like?
Many people have come up with ideas, here are a few of mine, don't worry if my explanations do not make sense, I will draw images and upload them later.
the bug-type, visceon, it would probably be purple (as many fully evolved bug-types are) not green because that would clash with leafeon, and have sticky feet because of the the name I chose, it would like sap, like a heracross for the same reason as the sticky feet, it would have some markings on it for camouflage, probably in a beige or cream, its body would be the same shape as umbreon's except the ears would either be longer and skinnier to look like antenae or there would be antenae near the ears on the inside of them. The eyes would resemble a vulpix's eyes. I would like eeveelutions to get their collars back so visceon would have a collar that is the same colour as its markings, but would be spiky from sap stuck in its collar making it sticky.
The dragon-type would probably be blue, like most pure dragon-types, with some white fixtures, like all pure dragon-types. The "fixtures" would probably be a helmet-like thing on the face, it would have white ears and a white underbelly. It would be smooth, like a dragon-type, and have black eyes. The "helmet" would go to the top if its neck before wrapping around the neck to the front(this neck part would be thicker to look like a collar) and down to the underbelly, it would be like armor because it would be tougher than it's skin, its purpose would be for when it is flying(without being a flying-type, like dragonair)so that it can avoid injury from attacks aimed from below.
The fighting-type would have really long ears that, when not in use, would rest on its back. It would be yellow, like makuhita, and it would be sleek with fur one inch long but smoothed back, the purpose of the fur woulf be defensive because fighting-types do not have very good defence, it could cushion blows. It would have additions that look like shoulder pads to make up its collar, they would be purple in colour. It would be the tallest and largest eeveelution of course. It is reasonable to assume that there would be more attacks available, with its ears it would learn attacks such as brick break, but with its paws there might be a new fighting-type move like super pound or something where the pokemon jumps into the air and stomps on the attackee, or any similar move.
The flying-type would be a white pokemon with gold and silver accents. The wings would be feathery, almost fluffy but not to an altaria level. Its tail would resemble the tail of a wartortle, but longer and wavier than curly. It would have a sac around its neck, similar to that of a buizel, but it would fill it with helium ti assist in flight. The white part of the eyes would be gold, the coloured part silver, and the pupils black(might switch gold and silver when I draw it).
The ghost-type would probably be purple with a flowy tail. The collar would be "hair" kinf like that of a misdreavous but thiker that sometimes manipulates to look outstreched, flowy, and intimidating.
The ground-type would be a light brown with a yellowish brown collar. I haven't decided anything else yet.
The poison-type would be purple. It would probably be squishy but not to a muk/grimer level. It would have pores around its neck that release a dark gas, it likes to keep some of the gas around its neck and that would look like a collar, when threatened it releases more gas until it is safely hidden in the thick cloud, the cloud is also slightly toxic. It has a move similar to the move that phione and vaporeon use, but instead it turns into a purple sticky mess.
This pokemon would be made of stone(obviously) and so would be a gray colour. It would have small cobblestone "paths" along its body. No igneon's cobblestone pattern is the same(like a spinda). It has jagged peaks around its neck that make up its collar.
The steel-type eeveelution would also be gray in colour, but much shinier. Its neck would be magnetic and so things like paper clips would stick on it, that would serve as a mane. as time goes on its mane gets larger, to the point where it has to lower its magnetic field and start all over again leaving behind a large pile of metal objects. Its tail is made in the same way.

Those are my ideas on the eeveelutions, they are not necessarily what the makers of pokemon will do, I will try to make the pictures as quickly as possible, sorry about all the typos and strange paragraphing, also I know some of my ideas are terrible but please do not mock me for them.
